Taking control of the company at its start-up phase, Sanith’s experience in strategic planning, branding and marketing has propelled the company to regional recognition, having been acknowledged as 'The Best Provider of Environmental Solutions in the Middle East - Asia' by the World Leadership Federation at their international award ceremony in Dubai. Sanith’s own achievements in environmental conservation and corporate sustainability led to him being awarded the coveted Global CSR Leadership Award at the global awards held in Mumbai. In October 2017 in Pittsburgh, USA, Sanith was inducted into The Global Climate Leadership Corps by former US Vice President Al Gore, in recognition of his leadership in fighting climate change.
He has been invited to be an expert speaker at climate change forums in India, Nepal, South Korea, The United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Oman , Sri Lanka and The USA.
Prior to his role at CCC, Sanith counts over 12 years experience in Advertising and Marketing Communications with international agency networks Leo Burnett and DraftFCB, where he has held positions in Client Management and Strategic Planning and was one of the co-founders of the local boutique agency WORDS – as Director Strategic Planning and Media
Sanith has had his Executive training at Harvard University and holds an MBA from the Postgraduate Institute of Management of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. He is also an Attorney-at-Law.
Operations, New Business, Client Relations & MarComms
A graduate of Staffordshire University in the UK with a BSc and MSc in Business Management, Kanishka has over 7 years experience in Customer/Guest Service Management, Client Relationship Management, Sales and Key Account Management, prior to returning to Sri Lanka and joining CCC. His previous employers include the Tussauds Group, Home Retail Group, London Hilton on Park Lane and Waldorf Hilton London.
Kanishka counts over 8 years of experience in the field of Sustainability to date. In addition to overseeing the operations of the company, he heads up the Business Development, Client Relationship Management and Marketing Communications functions of the company, and further operates in the capacity of Project Manager on multiple CCC projects.
Taking a lead in developing Sustainability Management Plans and Reporting Frameworks, he works closely with C-Suite and Senior Management Teams in implementing sustainability solutions, internal and external communication strategies, and staff training and engagement initiatives.
Asst. Manager - Client Relationship Management
Asst. Manager - Water, Waste & Forestry Management
With a BSc (Hons) in Industrial Relations, Psychology & Sociology from the University of Toronto and a Masters in Environmental Management from Coventry University in the U.K., Ruwanthi brings with her close to six years of experience having worked in Canada as a Coordinator on integrating Sustainability and Climate Change awareness into education systems; in Oman at a Human Resources Consultancy focusing on Client Relations; and in Sri Lanka as a Project Coordinator undertaking Environmental, Socioeconomic, Human Resource Development & Capacity Building projects,
prior to joining CCC.
Shermila has a degree with honours in Applied Science, specialised in Biodiversity & Conservation from the Rajarata University, and an MSc in Environmental Science from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. She has over 5 years of experience in Biodiversity and Environmental Conservation & Management, Forestry Management, Water Footprinting, Water Management and Waste Auditing .
Shermila is a member of the Sri Lanka Association of Advanced Sciences and has also completed a CEA Accredited International Intensive Training Programme on Environmental Impact Assessments.
Senior Project Lead
- Life Cycle Analysis, Plastic Footprinting & Waste Management
Hasini holds a BSc special degree in Eco-Business Management from the Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka. She has experience in Life Cycle Greenhouse Gas Assessments, conducting research and assisting undergraduate and postgraduate students on Environmental Life Cycle Impact Assessments. She is a member of the Life Cycle Assessment and Design for Sustainability Network, Sri Lanka (LCADeSNet) and is also a Technical Advisor to the 3R Project Standard Development Committee of VERRA.
Hasini is trained on ISO 14064 Greenhouse Gas Emissions Management and Verification, ISO 14067:2018 (Carbon Footprint of Products), Energy Management in compliance with the Energy Managers' training requirements of the Sustainable Energy Authority of Sri Lanka, and has completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Manufacturing Management. She is currently reading for her MSc in Manufacturing Management at the University of Colombo.
Senior Project Lead
- Carbon Management and Mitigation
Sachini holds an honours bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering from Monash University in Clayton, Australia. Her experience encompasses risk assessments and environmental impact assessments, with several years of experience conducting Carbon and Environmental Audits, GHG Accounting & Reporting, along with consultancy services in the fields of sustainability and energy efficiency.
She is also trained in ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 14064 global standards.
Senior Advisory Team
International Advisor - Project Design & Development
With over 10 years experience in international carbon project development in the South Asian region, Suraj brings with him a range of expertise in carbon assessment, management and developing and registering carbon mitigation projects. Suraj leads CCC’s forestry and renewable energy project development across the South Asian region. Prior to joining CCC, he was employed as a Senior Scientific Carbon Associate at Prime Carbon Co Ltd in Vientiane, Laos, where he was entrusted with providing technical support and advice for developing climate change mitigation/adaptation and low carbon projects in Lao PDR, Myanmar and Thailand, and promoting carbon offsetting for the corporate sector. He was in charge of the overall management of environmental consultancies undertaken by the company as well as providing technical support and advice for Forestry Management and Certification projects in Lao PDR and Thailand.Suraj has been the lead consultant managing the registration of several carbon sequestration projects under the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), Verified Carbon Standard (VCS), American Carbon Registry (ACR) Standard and the Gold Standard for Afforestation/Reforestation. He was the Carbon Specialist for the Laos Public/Private Sub-National REDD Project (SN-REDD).Suraj has also held positions at Worldview International Foundation (WIF) in Myanmar where he oversaw the development of a 2,265 ha VCS project that involves the reforestation and restoration of mangroves in the Ayarwaddy Region. He has also played a key role in creating awareness and strengthening the capacity of the local and indigenous communities in Sri Lanka to implement community-based REDD+ (CBR+) programmes in the country under the project titled “Knowledge Management and Capacity Building of CSOs/CBOs under Community-Based REDD+ Programme, Sri Lanka".
